About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician to support a highly automated distribution facility. You will troubleshoot electrical, control, and automation systems supporting conveyors, shuttle systems, ASRS equipment, robotics, scanners, VFDs, motors, and control panels. The role requires strong hands-on diagnostic ability across both Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) and Siemens PLC platforms. This is an off-shift role for a dependable tradesperson who can work safely, respond calmly to breakdowns, communicate clearly, and take ownership of equipment reliability.

Afternoon Shift : 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
Night Shift : 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, controls, communications, and automation-related equipment failures.
  • Diagnose Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) and Siemens PLC-controlled systems using programs, I/O status, alarms, and electrical drawings.
  • Maintain conveyors, shuttle systems, ASRS equipment, robotics, scanners, sensors, safety circuits, VFDs, motors, and control panels.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and site procedures.
  • Respond to breakdowns, identify root causes, and safely restore equipment with minimal operational disruption.
  • Support installations, upgrades, commissioning, network troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Complete inspections, work orders, parts usage, program-change records, and repair documentation in the CMMS.
  • Follow electrical safety, arc-flash, LOTO, and all site-specific requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician certificate or recognized equivalent; Red Seal endorsement is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience with automated or PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) and/or Siemens PLC platforms; experience with both is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, motor control circuits, safety circuits, sensors, encoders, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, equipment manuals, and PLC logic.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing breakdowns, and make sound decisions during off-shift operations.
  • Clear communication, teamwork, and accurate technical documentation skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Automated distribution, ASRS, shuttle, robotics, sortation, or high-speed conveyor systems.
  • Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix and Siemens TIA Portal / STEP 7 diagnostic experience.
  • Industrial Ethernet, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, remote I/O, barcode scanners, and device communications.
  • Servo systems, machine safety, HMI troubleshooting, backups, and controlled PLC program changes.
  • Experience using a CMMS and participating in root cause analysis or reliability improvement.
